Variable-Speed Drive App (Tool4Cool® Mobile)

The new Tool4Cool® mobile version in the Secop Toolkit app allows Secop customers to adjust the refrigeration-relevant parameters via mobile phone and Secop gateway. Connect the Secop Gateway V01.03 (the one with the Tool4Cool® icon on its label) using a USB-C to USB-C.

The Secop Toolkit App including Tool4Cool® is now available for devices running on Google’s Android operating systems. Our Android Package (APK) file can be installed manually (depending on your Android OS settings), for example, if you do not have access to Google Play.

Adapt Your Cooling Performance

The mobile version of Tool4Cool® offers the possibility to adapt cooling performance relevant parameters primarily used in laboratories when testing an application:

  • Compressor speed
  • Cut out temperature
  • Fan speed

The new feature provides an exceptional user experience with a simplified layout and intuitive design. This first version is available for BD Nano, BD Micro, BD-P and related controllers. Setting these parameters for the DC range compressors is simple and can be done in four easy steps.

  • Download or update the Secop Toolkit app from the Google Play Store
  • Connect your phone or tablet to the Secop gateway using the USB-C cable
  • The app will automatically connect to the controller
  • Start setting parameters

Thanks to the "actual temperature" parameter, the user can monitor the temperature inside the application.

A Comparison with the Current Tool4Cool® v3.01 Version

Compared to the Tool4Cool® v3.01 version, which is still in use and available, the new mobile app feature reduces the user's effort. Indeed, the Product Key and the Parameter Definition files are automatically downloaded via the network connection. The new solution will automatically read the data from the electronic controller, let the user change the settings, and save them. The app communicates the parameters change to the controller, and the compressor starts operating with the new settings.

Secop tested it on multiple devices using Android as the operating system. The phone must support OTG, a feature where the connector to charge is also capable of charging a device.

With this new mobile phone application, Secop took the first step toward enhancing the overall product development experience in our customers' labs when using our compressors and controllers.

If customers get the error "Controller not supported" for DC controllers, Secop invites them to fill out the "technical support" form to implement the missing controller.

Light commercial (DLV, NLV, SLV, and SLVE) controllers are not supported yet. Secop is working to extend the app tool to the AC variable-speed compressor range.
