Nidec GA Compressors (formerly Secop), a global expert in advanced compressor technologies using hydrocarbon refrigerants, will support and sponsor ATMOsphere China in 2019.
ATMOsphere - Interactive workshops bringing together decision makers from industry and government to change the future of natural refrigerants.
The second ATMOsphere China conference will take place in Shanghai on 11–12 April 2019, corresponding with China Refrigeration (9–11 April), the largest refrigeration technology exhibition in the Asia-Pacific region. To create a strong connection between Chinese businesses and the global market for natural refrigerants, ATMOsphere China will be simultaneously translated in English and Chinese.
ATMOsphere China 2019 will be supported by the Chinese government and leading HVAC&R associations as well as some of the most advanced international and domestic manufacturers of systems and components based on natural refrigerants. ATMOsphere China will serve as the platform to discuss about opportunities for natural refrigerants in China bringing both global and local end users to share their experiences and best practices with natural refrigerants.
Representatives from Chinese Ministries will stir up a discussion together with local associations and regulatory bodies around global policy developments, thus informing and influencing key decision makers. After the Kigali Amendment, a key moment for the HVAC&R sector, China has already started its phase-down strategies and it is moving towards natural refrigerants. In 2018 China started its environmentally-friendly transition by phasing out R22 and chosing hydrocarbons as a refrigerant for air-conditioning. Ammonia and CO2 have started to penetrate the Chinese market as well and this can already be seen in many industrial refrigeration systems.
ATMO China 2019 will focus on light commercial, commercial and industrial refrigeration as well as heat pumps. We welcome the global industry that recognises China to be the key manufacturing hub as well as emerging exporter of natural refrigerant-based technologies to join us on 11-12 April to discuss the future of the industry.

Technology Cases Studies – Increased Effciency with R290 in Light-Commercial Refrigeration (Peter Michael Hansen, Nidec GA Compressors)
R290 offers higher cooling speed and efficiency, as well as better running costs for light commecial applications. Nidec/Secop's variable speed technology will be of benefit to OEMs and end users in obtaining extreme energy savings and total cost of ownership savings. Nidec/Secop's R290 Variable Speed Compressors allow light commercial equipment to reach the highest level on China's Energy Label. In addition, optimum design of refrigeration systems help to reduce R290 refrigerant volume.
